About Us

To provide high quality advice, assistance, counseling, education, outreach and advocacy to eligible veterans and their families for obtaining Federal, State and County veterans' benefits and services in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.

We are accredited with the U.S. Department of Veterans (DVA) and are authorized to submit claims for benefits and represent claimants with processing their claims to include appeals to the DVA Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA). We work closely with the DVA to obtain benefits for our veterans and their surviving spouses.

Please feel free to view the information on our web page and contact us for assistance. VA programs where assistance from this office may be provided include: health care, disability compensation, pensions, education benefits, homeless veterans, emergency financial needs, burial benefits, obtaining copies of military records and replacement medals, as well as other VA programs too numerous to list here. Potential non-VA benefits are identified, and referrals are made on the veteran’s behalf to other agencies.

In addition to providing advice and assistance, the Adams County Veterans Affairs Office coordinates placement of graveside markers and flags prior to Memorial Day each year to recognize the service and sacrifices of veterans buried in County cemeteries.  These flags and markers are distributed and placed at the cemeteries by various individuals and organizations who volunteer their time and talents each year to ensure the recognition of our deceased veterans. All of these services are provided at no cost to the veteran or their families.
