Notice: Please be advised that Pennsylvania State Law mandates that all dogs must be licensed at the time of purchase (legal at eight weeks), or by three months old, whichever comes first. A dog owner can be fined up to $500 for each unlicensed dog plus court costs. 

You can now purchase 2024 Annual Dog Licenses online, by mail or in-person at the Treasurer's Office.  Adams County Treasurer's Office Online Dog Licensing

How to Apply

How to Apply for an Annual Dog License:   

Annual licenses are valid from January 1 - December 31  

1) Complete and print the Annual Dog License Application   

2) Mail application and check/money order to the address below:

Gettysburg, PA 17325  

Checks can be made out to the Adams County Treasurer  

How to Apply for a Lifetime Dog License:    

Dogs must be micro chipped to be eligible for a lifetime dog license. Lifetime Licenses can be purchased by mail or in person at the Treasurer's office.   

1) Complete and print the Lifetime Dog License Application 

2) Print the Permanent Identification Verification Form  (Microchip Form)  

A veterinarian or representative from a PA Licensed kennel must complete the Permanent Identification Verification Form.  Please make sure to obtain the signature of the person implanting the microchip or scanning the microchip. Veterinarian Practice number or PA Kennel License number are required to be put on the form. Also, veterinarians must supply the address and phone number of their actual practice.

3) Mail application, check/money order and microchip form to the address below:
