News Date: Monday, October 6, 2025
Gettysburg, PA – October 1, 2025 – The Adams County Board of Commissioners today announced the launch of the Opioid Settlement Funds Grant Program, a new initiative created to combat the opioid epidemic and support recovery efforts throughout the county. This grant program will support evidence-based and community-driven initiatives across Adams County that prevent opioid misuse and expand access to opioid misuse treatment.
This grant program is supported by the funds received by Adams County and administered by the Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust, which receives funds from settlements entered into by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and opioid manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacy chains.
“The opioid epidemic has impacted countless families in our community,” said Commissioner Randy Phiel. “This grant program represents an important step forward in our ongoing commitment to reducing substance use, supporting those in recovery, and building a healthier future for Adams County.”
Eligible applicants for the program include non-profit organizations, government entities, and community-based groups that propose special projects directly aligned with opioid abatement strategies. Projects must fall under at least one of the approved opioid abatement uses, as referenced in the Exhibit E – List of Opioid Remediation Uses.
Applications for the Opioid Settlement Funds Grant Program open on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and must be submitted by Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Grant guidelines and application materials are available on the Adams County website at https://www.adamscountypa.gov/home/highlight-news-(slider)/adams-county-opioid-settlement-funds-grant-program.
