Entry Procedures for the Adams County Human Services Building

  • Listen closely to the officer’s instructions, this will hasten the process.
  • Remove all items from your pockets and place them into your purse, backpack, etc.  Otherwise, place those objects into the plastic bins provided at the Security Desk.
  • All non-medical personal electronics (cell phones, laptops, iPods, tablets, etc.) must be powered OFF while within Adams County facilities.
  • Place your hand carried items on the conveyor belt and they will be examined as you walk through the metal detector. The metal detector is non-invasive and will not affect most medical devices.  Advise the Officer of any pacemakers, glucose monitors or other devices and you may request to be checked with the handheld.
  • If the alarm sounds as you walk through the metal detector, the Officer will conduct a secondary inspection with the handheld.
  • f you have any prohibited item(s) in your possession, you will be required to surrender it during your visit or return it to your vehicle.
  • If you leave the building, for any reason, the checkpoint procedures will begin again.

Once you and your belongings have been checked, you may proceed to your destination.

You must remember to retrieve any item(s) left at the Security Desk upon your departure. All items will be disposed of after 30 days.

Allow time in your schedule for security processing into the Adams County Human Services Building.

  • Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Please, leave any unnecessary metal items in your car or at home.
  • Proceed to the Security Checkpoint located within the public entrance of the building.
  • An Officer will greet you upon entry
