Where do I apply?

      1. High school diploma/GED (or are currently enrolled in an accredited program)
      2. Minimum 18 years of age
      3. No previous felony convictions

What does the hiring process look like?

Step 1    Submit your application.

Step 2    Your application will be reviewed, and if selected you will be contacted to schedule an interview.    

Step 3    Panel Interview.

Step 4    Tour of the facility.

Step 5    Complete pre-employment background screening(s).

Step 6    Receive offer letter and schedule start date.

Step 7    Complete pre-employment onboarding.

Basic Training:

Do I have to go away overnight for basic training?

No, the ACACC is an accredited PA State Basic Training Academy for Corrections. All training will be on-site. 

        1. The first three (3) weeks consist of classroom training (M-F, 0645-1500 hours). 
        2. Followed by four (4) weeks of on-the-job training (M-Th, 0645-1900 hours) 
        3. One (1) week of on-the-job training (M-Th, 1845-0700 hours). 

Actual length of basic training may vary due to holidays and/or unscheduled days off.

Will I be paid during training?

Yes, basic training is paid (2025 base rate - $21.50/hr.)

Does my certification transfer to other facilities?

Upon completion of the academy, you will be certified as a Corrections Officer in the state of Pennsylvania.
